The CrossFit Open 2026

The CrossFit Open is back! If this is your first time hearing about it or you've done it before, here's why you should consider taking part.
What Is The CrossFit Open?
The CrossFit Open is a worldwide online competition organised by CrossFit HQ. Athletes from CrossFit gyms all over the world participate in the same workouts during the same week.
This year it runs from 26th Feb until 16th March. It's not just about competition, it's about connection. The Open brings the global CrossFit community together, so everyone's doing the same workout and experiencing the same fun and struggle.
How Does It Work?
Over three weeks, one new workout is released each Thursday at 9pm CET. You have until midnight the following Monday to complete it and submit your score. You can do it once, or repeat it as many times as you want to improve your result.
Who Can Participate?
Everyone!
Those aged 18-34 are placed in the Individuals division. Otherwise there are nine age group divisions, e.g. Teens (13-17) to Masters (35+). You can choose from three levels:
- RX: The workout as prescribed
- Scaled: Modified movements and lighter weights
- Foundations: Entry-level version for beginners
No matter where you are in your fitness journey, there's a category for you. Read more about divisions and levels here.
Why Should You Sign Up?
At BLN, we do the Open every year. Not because we're all chasing podium spots, but because it's a chance to test ourselves and see how we've progressed.
When you register officially on games.crossfit.com, you can log your scores on the global leaderboard and see where you stand compared to others in your country and gym. But it's not about competing against others. It's about seeing where you are now compared to last year, and identifying weak spots and seeing what you need to work on as the season goes on.
The "Open Magic"
There's something we call "Open Magic" in the community. It's when someone attempts a movement they've never done before during the Open and gets it for the first time.
A muscle-up. A strict pull-up. A heavier snatch than they thought possible. Something about the Open brings it out. Maybe when the workout calls for it, people stop overthinking and just go for it. Someone who's been working on a skill for months suddenly hits it during an Open workout. It's one of the best parts of the experience.
How BLN Will Support You
We're running dedicated CrossFit Open sessions throughout the three weeks to help you tackle the workouts with coaching, strategy, and community support.
Here's the schedule:
- Friday Sessions | from 5pm, first heats start at 5:30pm
- Approximately 1.5-hour Open sessions with heats, judges, standards breakdown, and strategy coaching. After the workout, stick around to hang out and debrief with the crew.
- Monday WOD Classes
- Option to do the Open workout during regular class time, or repeat it if you want to improve your score from Friday.
Members and externals book into the classes as normal.
Do I Need To Register?
Not at all. Registration is only necessary if you want to log your score on the leaderboard and see where you rank officially.
But you don't need to register to participate. You're more than welcome, actually we encourage you, to join our BLN Open classes and do the workouts with everyone else. The experience, the atmosphere, the challenge - none of that requires official registration.
Show up, do the workout, be part of it. That's what matters.
Should You Do It?
Yes! If:
- You've been training for a while and you're curious about testing yourself.
- You've never done a competition before and want to try it out without pressure or signing up for a full event
- You want to see how much progress you’ve made so far
Registration is open. The first workout drops February 26th. Let's do this.
